  • 최주열은 익숙한 기호와 텍스트, 오브제들을 낯설고 기이한 조합으로 모으고 흩어내면서 독특한 감각의 풍경을 연출한다. 낙서 같은 분방한 붓질, 무심한듯 천진스러운 형태, 거칠게 비어있는 캔버스 표면, 거침없고 대담한 색의 조합은 보는 이의 상상에 의해 변형되고 즐겁게 향유되는 놀이터 같은 감흥으로 다가선다. 작가는 지명을 그대로 제목으로 가져오는데, 관객들이 그림을 통해 자신만의 세상을 열기를 바라기 때문이다.

    JHU creates unique sensory landscapes by gathering and dispersing familiar symbols, texts, and objects in strange and unusual combinations. Freewheeling brushstrokes, seemingly indifferent yet innocent forms, rough and vacant canvas surfaces, and bold color combinations create a playground-like inspiration that is transformed and joyfully enjoyed by the viewer's imagination.
