光/影 - Light&Shadow
심플함 속에서 자연의 멋을 고스란히 느낄 수 있는 그림. 명징하고 뚜렷한 그림을 그리고자 한다. 생명은 명확하다. 삶과 죽음에 중간은 없다.

빛이 없으면 역광은 불가능하다.
나의 그림에서 여백은 그려낸 것 이상으로 중요한 것. 여백은 빛으로 가득한 하늘 그리고 공간.

순수한 통찰력을 추구하다.

명징한 먹 선과 비단의 여백이 대비되어 만들어내는 사유의 공간.

숲을 산책할 때면 주변의 소리는 차단되고, 뜸하게 우는 새소리와 딱딱하게 굳은 흙, 마른 가지 밟는 발자국 소리만 들린다. 고요한 명상에 잠긴다.
매서운 칼바람과 깨끗하고 찬 공기 속에서 큰 호흡을 해본다.

역광에 의해 그늘진 나무는 검은 실루엣으로 보이지만 사실 그 안에는 무수한 이파리와 잔가지가 존재한다. 눈에 보이지 않지만 실재하는 것이 있다.

I strived for two styles: simple and true pieces where people can feel the flavour of nature and clear and distinct paintings. Life is definite. There is no middle between life and death.

Backlighting is impossible without light.
The negative space in my painting matters more than the solid lines drawn. This void can be a multitude of things, an empty space or the sky filled with the light.

We create our inner space with what we see and hear along with other senses.
I seek clear insight.

Solid black lines and negative space on the silk make a space for thinking.

When I am walking in the forest, I hear almost nothing except the sound of birds and my steps on the dried soil and fallen leaves. I enter in calm meditation.
I take a deep breath of the crisp and chilled air and the piercing wind.

Silhouette of the tree made by the backlight may seem featureless, but actually there exist countless leaves and twigs. There is always something we can not see but actually exists, just as we can see the tree itself when the shade is cleared away.
