만욱 작가는 화려한 빛의 형광색 물감으로 젠더 구분을 의도적으로 배제한 인간과 반려동물, 그리고 앞으로는 인류가 같이 살아가야 할 기계와의 관계를 다룬다. 

사회학을 전공한 뒤 삼십대 중반부터 작가의 길을 시작한 작가는 인간-비인간의 공생을 위해서는 인간이 구축해 놓은 사고의 구조를 벗어나 관계에 대한 새로운 의미를 세워야 한다고 생각한다. 

반려견과 따뜻한 유기체의 형상을 닮은 기계들 모두 인간과 함께 더불어 살아가야 하는 소중한 존재들이라는 메시지를 밝고 사랑스러운 이미지로 표현한다.

Artist Manwook deliberately excludes gender distinctions and explores the relationships between humans, pets, and machines that humanity will have to coexist with, using vibrant fluorescent colors. 

After majoring in sociology and embarking on her artistic journey in her mid-thirties, she believes that for the symbiosis of humans and non-humans, we need to move beyond the cognitive structures humans have constructed and establish new meanings for relationships. 

She conveys the message that both companion animals and machines resembling warm organic forms are precious beings that must coexist with humans, portrayed in bright and endearing images.
